people's ability to move - whether for work or play.What we do: The
Sr. CFD Engineer will provide Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis
to support various components of Flight Technology, including air
vehicle design, component testing and flight testing. This role
will interface regularly with the broader Flight Technology team,
and will be responsible for analysis, data management, standard
methodologies, supporting design due diligence and serve as a
source of technical guidance to the larger CFD team.What you can
do:
- Plan and complete CFD analysis to support design and testing of
air vehicles at varying stages of development
- Provide technical guidance to other CFD Engineers and the
broader team
- Build aerodynamic databases to support engineering flight
simulation
- Perform computational analysis of interactional aerodynamics at
the component and vehicle levels
- Establish sound Design of the Experiment guidelines and
repeatable, automated processes to optimize computational
throughput
- Explore and create analysis techniques for evolving
technologies, establishing sound engineering approaches to applying
CFD for development of unconventional designs
- Work with the broader engineering team to conduct
multi-disciplinary trade studies to guide through design
decisionsWhat you can contribute:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering field
- 10+ years of experience in the aerospace industry (an
equivalent combination of education and experience will be
considered for this role)
- Demonstrated history of successful contributions in
progressively more senior roles
- Experience with state-of-the-art computational fluid dynamics
analysis techniques
- A broad understanding of CFD engineering fundamentals
- Extensive knowledge of how to use CFD to evaluate new and novel
technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent listening and comprehension skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Must have the ability to independently prioritize and
accomplish work within time constraints
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and
confidentialityYou may also be able to contribute:
- Familiarity with and understanding of vertical lift
aircraft
