Locum Tenens Opportunity: Plastic Surgeon Near Westminster, CA We are currently seeking a Plastic Surgeon for a locum tenens position near Westminster, CA. Position Overview: Specialty: Plastic Surgery (Breast Surgery Focus) Type: Locum Tenens Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Plus Call Practice Setting: Outpatient and Inpatient Key Responsibilities: Clinical and Surgical Duties: Clinic Hours: The surgeon will work full-time in the clinic from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. During these hours, the focus will be on patient consultations, pre-operative planning, and post-operative care. Surgical Duties: OR time will be scheduled as operating room blocks become available. The surgeon will be expected to perform a variety of plastic surgery procedures with a particular emphasis on breast surgery. Call Coverage: The position includes night call duties after clinic hours. This is primarily beeper call, with the main clinician taking most of the calls. However, the locum surgeon may be asked to cover 24-hour beeper call on weekends when the main clinician is unavailable. Typically, call volume is low, with the possibility of handling issues via phone without the need to come in. Qualifications and Requirements: Board Certification: Candidates must be board certified in Plastic Surgery. Licensure: Must hold an active medical license in California (CA). Certifications: BLS is required. Other certifications like ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS are not necessary for this position. Hospital Privileges: Hospital or surgery center privileges are required, though temporary privileges are not available. The credentialing process is estimated to take 60-90 days, so candidates should be prepared for this timeframe. Experience: The ideal candidate should have significant experience in breast surgery and be comfortable handling both routine and complex cases. Additional Details: Inpatient and Outpatient Focus: The role requires a balance between inpatient and outpatient duties, providing comprehensive care to patients across various stages of their treatment journey. Surgeons will round on inpatients as needed, ensuring continuity of care from the clinic to the operating room.
